Where is the Pelvic Floor?
The pelvic floor is made up of muscles and other tissues that form a sling from the pubic bone to the tailbone. They help to support the abdominal and pelvic organs, and control bladder and bowel.

pelvic floor physical therapy servicesPeninsula Physical Therapy specializes in Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy. We provide treatment therapy to correct dysfunction, manage pain, and improve quality of life for patients with urological, obstetric, gynecological, and menopausal conditions.

  • Pregnancy – We assist in relieving discomforts experienced during and after pregnancy. Patients receive education on body mechanics, exercise programs, and body positioning. We also provide manual therapy which can assist in sacroiliac pain.
  • Back Pain – Develop an individualized exercise program and education on movement techniques.
  • Pelvic Pain – Managed with specific treatment according to underlying sources. Treatment may include biofeedback, relaxation exercises, therapeutic heat, electrotherapy, stretching, massage and individual education.
  • Incontinence – Designed programs to strengthen the pelvic floor and modify habits that may contribute to bladder control problems. Treatment can include biofeedback, exercises, electrical stimulation and education.

This therapy was designed exclusively for the needs of today’s men and women. Our clinic provides professional therapy to correct dysfunction, manage pain, and improve the quality of life for patients. We offer a private environment, which allows for relaxation as well as confidentiality.

At Peninsula Physical Therapy, we are here to listen to our patient’s concerns from adolescence through later stages of life.
